Photos of our work

Plastering and rendering by our team. Some finished, some part way through so you can see how it is done.

Inside: plastering

Freshly plastered media wall with a recess for a television and a fire opening below
Media wall built out and skimmed, with a TV recess above and a fire opening below. Still dark because the plaster is wet.
Freshly plastered chimney breast with a fire opening, a TV recess and three alcove shelves
Chimney breast re-formed with shelf alcoves, a TV recess and a square fire opening, all skimmed in one go.

Outside: rendering

House in white render with black window frames and a red block drive
White through-coloured render with a dark plinth at the bottom to hide splash marks.
Flat-fronted terraced houses in smooth cream render with black front doors
Neighbouring terraced fronts rendered together so the finish is the same from end to end.
Semi-detached house with curved bay windows in cream render and red tile sills
Curved bays rendered by hand in cream, original tile sills kept on show.
Bungalow with a smooth white rendered front beside a pebbledashed neighbour
A bungalow front taken from pebbledash to smooth render. Next door still has the old finish.
Semi with a rendered first-floor bay over a brick ground floor
Top half rendered, bottom half left as brick, with a drip bead where the two meet.
Terraced house in white render with a brick arch over the porch and a brick plinth
Render cut in tight to a brick porch arch the owner wanted keeping.
Semi-detached house in new white render with the scaffold still up
Top coat finished. The scaffold stays until the render has had time to cure.
Back of a large house with the upper floor rendered and scaffold around a brick extension
Part way through: first floor done, scaffold still in place over the extension.
Rendered chimney stack and dormer side seen from scaffold boards
Chimney stack and dormer side re-rendered while the scaffold was up.
Three-storey back wall in white render with dormers and a single-storey extension
Three storeys of white render at the back, extension included.
Semi-detached house with white render above a buff brick front extension
First floor re-rendered to tidy up after a front extension was built.
Long two-storey side wall in white render with black windows and a dark band
A long gable-side wall. Any wave in the float shows up here, so it gets ruled flat.
Back of a house in white render with three dormers and wide glazed doors
Narrow strips of render between big glazed openings, each edge beaded.
House with steep gables in white render and dark window frames
Tall gables rendered white with dark frames for contrast.
Cream rendered house front with an oak-framed porch on brick piers
Cream render finished round an oak porch without marking the timber.
White rendered entrance with a cream surround and band course
Two colours on one front: white walls, cream surround and band.
Period house front with a cream rendered bay, decorative door surround and iron railings
An older front with its mouldings and brackets kept and repainted with the wall.
Large detached house in cream render behind a gravel drive
A big detached house in cream with gables on every side.
Modern house with white render above dark stone cladding and a glass balcony
White render against dark stone cladding on a modern build.
Row of new-build houses in off-white render
New-build plots rendered in off-white straight onto blockwork.
New house with cream render panels set between red brick gables
Cream render panels framed by brickwork on a new house.
Semi-detached house in white render with a curved porch opening and a garage
Curved porch opening shaped in render to follow the door.
Small rendered outbuilding with a grey door in a back garden
Garden building rendered so it matches the house.

How to judge a plasterer's photos

A wide shot of a finished wall tells you very little. Look closer at the details that are hard to get right.

  • Edges of recesses and reveals: sharp, straight and even
  • Inside corners: a clean line, not a rounded smear
  • Where plaster meets skirting, sockets and frames: neat, no lumps
  • Outside walls in sunlight: no ripples or float marks in the shadows
  • The base of a rendered wall: a bead that stops short of the ground
